Council 81 COVID-19 Update: Member Only Benefits

Council 81 Presidents, Executive Board and Staff Representatives:

All of our members are on the front lines every day they're: unemployment claims workers, sanitation workers, custodians, nurses, correctional officers, social workers and road crews. When a pandemic hits, you are the everyday heroes that continue to make Delaware Happen. Thank you for continuing to show up and for being on the frontlines.

In a time when the public sector is asking you, our frontline members, to work harder, longer and in an uncertain environment—we want you to know that Council 81 is not only still open and here for you, we are offering additional member only benefits during these trying times. Our offices are open from 9-5 and we ask that you call ahead if you need anything from the office, so we can limit the number of people in the office. Your staff representatives are working around the clock to ensure your health and safety in conjunction with your Presidents and local executive boards.

current benefits available for members only

On that note we wanted to remind you that Amber and Kate from Phoenix Benefits are still available to sign people up for additional insurance benefits including: disability (if you're out of work for an injury, illness or surgery), and life insurance—term and whole. If you want to learn more about these or other benefits, please reach out to Amber and Kate at [email protected] or 443.442.4749. Please see the attached flyer as well!

coming soon for members only

Most full time state employees already have access to telemedicine (for more information, please click here for the DHR FAQ on COVID-19). However, for any casual seasonal members or other non-state employees who may not have easy access to telemedicine, Phoenix Benefits is working to have telemedicine as a benefit for Council 81 members only. Even if you already have access to telemedicine, having an additional backup is always a good thing. Please contact Kate and Amber for more information on this up and coming benefit for members only: [email protected] or 443.442.4749.

For more information on these or any other benefits available to our members, please contact Kate or Amber at Phoenix Benefits at [email protected] or 443.442.4749. Please post this and the attached flyer on your union bulletin boards for all members to see.
